Department of Electrical Engineering Conducts Academic Service Project Installing a Solar Energy System for the Community at Wat Pa Nong Pla Duk, Buriram Province
The Department of Electrical Engineering, South-East Asia University, focuses on applying engineering expertise for social development. On December 15–18, 2025, Asst. Prof. Saroj Langnamthip led a team of 8 electrical engineering students to install a solar power generation system (Solar Cell) as part of a community academic service project at Wat Pa Nong Pla Duk, Moo 8, Non Khwang Subdistrict, Ban Dan District, Buriram Province.
This undertaking involved transferring appropriate renewable energy technology suited to the area, with the installed system consisting of:
A set of high-efficiency 550-watt, 48V solar panels, totaling 8 panels
An energy storage system with 50 A/hr batteries, totaling 12 units, divided into 3 sets for stable power delivery
This project not only provides the temple with a sustainable electrical system and reduces utility costs, but also serves as Work-integrated Learning, giving students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to solve real problems in the community, while concretely raising awareness of clean and environmentally friendly energy use.
